Stores are starting to put out Christmas decorations already, but that doesn’t mean that fall is over. The cooler weather suggests that it’s time for the kids to get out and embrace the changing of seasons. There are so many fun things to do in Henderson. It is hard to decide which fall activities you want your family to choose. Fortunately, the beautiful communities of Henderson make finding the perfect family outing easy, and we’ve decided to help by putting together some of our favorite activities to do in Henderson.
One of the most time-honored traditions when the weather turns cool and the trees start to lose their leaves is to take the family to a pumpkin patch. This fun fall activity is the one that provides the stuff that makes memories. Pumpkin patches have evolved to far more than a few photo ops of the family picking pumpkins. Pumpkin patches across the valley have grown to include bounce houses, carnival rides, hayrides, mazes, and of course the ubiquitous pumpkin picking. Taking your family to a pumpkin patch is an affair that gets kids of all ages excited, and once you’ve packed up your gourds, you can head home and continue the fun with pumpkin carving. The Halloween tradition of Jack-o-lanterns is a great way to let kids show their creativity. Displaying their creations is also a seasonal way to engage with the neighborhood.
For a community-based event in Henderson, it’s hard to beat the Autumn in The Park at Cadence Master Plan. Here the family can enjoy Cadence Central Park. There will be hayrides, a DJ, food trucks and more. This event is not a trick; it is a treat your family will love.
Lake Las Vegas has a fabulous fall event on subsequent weekends that is sure to please. The Halloween Carnival runs Saturday & Sunday – October 20-21 & 27-18, from 3-7pm. With treats like old-fashioned carnival games, prizes, popcorn, cotton candy & more.
For the older-but-still-little ones, consider one of Henderson’s unique haunted houses. Very little is more fun to a teenager than getting a good old-fashioned scare. Henderson provides a variety of haunted houses that spring up in the fall that are great places to spook them. Haunted houses range from the very basic pop-out spooky clown, too much more involved scares that require signing a waiver, so choosing one that suits your family’s needs is important. Even better, these scary Halloween horror homes are available on nearly every street as you can find them in parking lots, old buildings, and strip malls.
Henderson Stroll N’ Roll festival. This interactive community event is designed to get kids outdoors and encourages all methods of transportation except for cars. Streets typically used for traffic are closed to vehicles, and vendors of all kinds are present to engage the family. At the Henderson Stroll N’ Roll, you can bring a bike, roller blades, or just your feet to peruse the different foods, items, and artwork sold right on the side of the road. Your family will breathe in the crisp fall air while enjoying live music, entertaining performances, and interactive exhibits designed to showcase what getting outdoors can do for you.
These are only a sampling of the great things to do in Henderson during the fall season. With each community having their own offerings, there might be even more local options. Many Henderson communities offer their Trunk or Treat events, decorating competitions, and mini-festivals, so don’t be shy with asking!
